WHO WE ARE
Providing for the Nomadic tribes, poor, unemployed, and the unfortunate for more than 30 years.
KCW&RF provides essential services to more than 5,00,000 residents of Tehsil Daund of Pune, Ahmednagar & Shevgaon Districts of Maharashtra State every year. Our services include basic needs like food, clothing, water and shelter, including specialized services such as drug treatment, mental health and legal support and bringing help to the areas that need it most.
Our programs are designed to help people and families be self-sufficient and end the cycle of dependence. This not only improves people's lives, but strengthens our community.
Essential Services: A lifeline for many
Hard times can happen to anyone, and when it does, we're there with a helping hand. In the past, help came as a food basket, needed house wares, or a place to stay.
Unfortunately, people today need a lot more to survive, and this is where we fill the gap. We don't just help mothers find work, we give them child care so they can go to work. We don't just feed the homeless, we provide job training programs and addiction services. We don't just protect abused women, we teach them how to break the cycle of violence.
Our services vary, but our motive is the same: To relieve the suffering of our friends, neighbors, countrymen and improve their future.
Our proud history of helping others
Since 1980, Prakash Mahila Mandal( now KCW&RF ) has been helping local residents in need. We were there during the Great Depression, several recessions, housing busts, and more weather disasters than we can count. These events forced people to come to us for help. And for the last 35 years, we've answered these calls by providing essential services regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or income. We don't preach, convert or judge. Rather, we regard all people as God's children, and it's our duty to help.
Making the most out of your support
We not only know how to provide effective help, but to manage our finances as well. Providing services to the community can be a fiscal challenge, yet we're still strong, and our programs have expanded. We're also proud to claim that over 90 cents of every work raised goes directly to programs for the poor and needy. We keep a low overhead and don't waste money. This is what keeps us thriving as a charity and we expect to be here for the next 100 years, and beyond.
Why we need your help
You may think that the government does what we do, but this is NOT TRUE. Government programs have been cut, and pressure is on private organizations to pick up the slack. And worse, the need for social services is the highest since the Great Depression. Unemployment, rising costs, the mortgage crisis and natural disasters have put millions of people into the ranks of poor and needy. Even those with jobs are finding themselves one paycheck away from losing everything. More people are turning to us for help, many for the first time.
